Terms and Conditions for Online Furniture Purchases
1. Product Information
All product descriptions, dimensions, photographs and specifications are provided as accurately as possible. Minor variations may occur between the product shown in photographs and the individual item supplied.
2. Natural Materials and Variations
Many of our products are made using natural materials, including solid timber, wood veneer and other natural finishes. As these materials are naturally variable, each piece is unique.
Variations in colour, tone, grain structure, knots, figuring, texture and other natural characteristics are to be expected and are not considered defects. Timber can also change in appearance over time due to exposure to light, humidity and changes in temperature. Consequently, the appearance of an individual item may differ from photographs shown on the website or from other units of the same product.
Where a product is manufactured in multiple units, we cannot guarantee that all units will have an identical colour, grain pattern or overall appearance.
3. Dimensions and Tolerances
The dimensions stated on the website are approximate unless otherwise specified. Minor manufacturing tolerances may occur. Where furniture is handmade or individually produced, small variations in dimensions and alignment may be unavoidable.
4. Colours and Photography
We make reasonable efforts to represent colours and materials accurately in product photography. However, colours may appear differently depending on lighting conditions, photography, screen settings and the characteristics of the individual material. The colour displayed on a screen should therefore not be considered an exact representation of the finished product.
5. Handmade and Made-to-Order Products
Furniture that is handmade or made to order may contain minor variations resulting from the manufacturing process. These variations form part of the character of an individually produced piece and do not constitute a defect where the furniture remains structurally sound and suitable for its intended purpose.
6. Custom Orders
For customised or individually commissioned furniture, the customer is responsible for confirming that the dimensions, materials, finishes and other specifications provided at the time of order are correct. Custom-made products may be subject to different cancellation and return conditions where permitted by applicable law.
7. Orders and Payment
An order becomes binding once it has been accepted and payment has been received or another agreed payment arrangement has been confirmed. Prices, payment terms and any applicable taxes or delivery charges will be stated at the time of purchase.
8. Delivery
Delivery dates and times are estimates unless a specific delivery date has been expressly agreed. Delays caused by carriers, suppliers, unforeseen production issues or circumstances outside our reasonable control may occur.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the delivery address and access conditions are suitable for the furniture being ordered. This includes ensuring sufficient access through doors, stairways, lifts and other relevant areas.
9. Customs, Import and Local Regulations
The customer is responsible for checking with the relevant local authorities, customs authorities and other regulatory bodies before placing an order to ensure that the purchased product, including its materials and components, is permitted to enter and be imported into the destination country.
This is particularly relevant to products containing natural materials such as timber, wood products, plant-based materials or other materials that may be subject to import restrictions, quarantine requirements, permits, certificates or specific classifications. The customer is responsible for obtaining any permits or documentation required for the legal importation of the product.
We are not responsible for products being delayed, refused entry, seized, destroyed, returned or otherwise withheld by customs or other authorities due to import restrictions, quarantine requirements, documentation requirements or regulations applicable in the destination country.
Where a product cannot be delivered or is withheld by customs because it does not meet the destination country's import requirements, the customer remains responsible for the purchase and any associated costs, including customs duties, storage, return, destruction or disposal costs. No refund will be provided on this basis, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
10. Inspection Upon Delivery
Customers should inspect furniture as soon as reasonably possible following delivery. Any visible transport damage should be documented and reported promptly, preferably with photographs of the packaging and the affected furniture.
11. Care and Maintenance
Furniture must be used and maintained in accordance with the care instructions provided. Natural materials may change over time through normal use and environmental conditions. Changes resulting from normal ageing, exposure to sunlight, humidity, temperature fluctuations or improper care are not considered manufacturing defects.
12. Warranty and Defects
The furniture is supplied with the statutory rights and warranties applicable under the law of the relevant jurisdiction. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights.
A defect does not include normal characteristics of natural materials, reasonable manufacturing tolerances, normal wear and tear, or changes resulting from improper use or maintenance.
13. Returns and Cancellation
Consumers purchasing products online generally have statutory cancellation and return rights where applicable. Exceptions may apply to certain custom-made or individually produced products, subject to applicable consumer protection law.
Any applicable cancellation period, return conditions and associated costs will be communicated in accordance with the requirements of the relevant law.
14. Intellectual Property
All photographs, drawings, product designs, descriptions, graphics, logos and other content displayed on the website remain the intellectual property of the respective rights holder and may not be reproduced or used without permission.
15. Liability
We are liable in accordance with applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.
16. Changes to Products and Terms
We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to product specifications, materials or construction where necessary, provided that such changes do not materially alter the characteristics or functionality of an order already placed.
These terms and conditions may be updated from time to time. The version applicable to an order is the version in force at the time the order was placed, unless otherwise required by law.
17. Applicable Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws applicable to the transaction and are subject to the mandatory consumer protection provisions applicable to the customer.
